How do you use the Stag Call Made of Ox Horn?
The stag call made of natural horn (ox horn) is a very popular
call among Eastern European hunters and was the instrument of the famous stag father Count Georg zu Münster and the good
stag callers from Austria. They roar with a voice produced from the chest into the extended
Eifel stag call (ox horn) with an "auuoooooaa- auuuooooaa". While you
are roaring into it, slowly push the call together to make it deeper. Conversely, it
becomes higher. This imitates the natural and fading
voice of the "report" coming from the stag's chest. The battle cry does not decay in pitch, it
is shouted out loud and deep, ouaaa- ouaaa.
With the bullhorn you have to regulate these tones with your voice pitch. A hunter with a
bass voice can naturally sound lower than a hunter with a high tenor voice.
